After School Enrichment | International Montessori Academy
After-school enrichment gives children a meaningful way to explore new ideas, build confidence, and discover interests that stretch far beyond the classroom. At International Montessori Academy, our after-school enrichment programs extend the heart of our Montessori approach, joyful learning, independence, and whole-child development. Into the afternoons engage with extracurricular activities that introduce new skills, spark creativity, and strengthen social-emotional skills in a nurturing environment. These enrichment activities offer a beautiful balance of fun, growth, and connection, helping young people learn, thrive, and participate confidently in ways that support early academics, social skills, and lifelong learning.

Enrichment Focus
Our school enrichment programs introduce children to new skills through yoga, dance, gymnastics, music, and art. Each of these activities are thoughtfully aligned with the Montessori values and the developmental needs of kids ages 1-8. These programs help students build confidence, strengthen social-emotional skills, improve focus, and develop creativity through movement, hands-on play, and youth sports-inspired activities. Research shows that high-quality extracurricular activities are linked to stronger self-esteem, better social skills, and improved academic outcomes, especially when paired with a supportive school environment.
About Our After-School Enrichment Activities
Our after-school enrichment programs bring an extra layer of fun, wonder, and creativity to your child's day. Every class, whether art, music, dance, or movement, is selected to give students a chance to explore, practice, and enjoy new skills in a gentle, developmentally supportive way. Led by passionate, dedicated staff members who understand Montessori principles, these activities help kids build confidence, make friends, and feel part of a warm campus community. With patient guidance and a nurturing environment, children are encouraged to try new things, complete challenges at their own pace, and celebrate their accomplishments. These small but meaningful moments help each child grow socially, emotionally, and academically, surrounded by teachers/classroom guides who truly care.
Yoga & Mindfulness
Yoga helps children develop balance, coordination, and emotional regulation through gentle movement and calming breathing practices. Studies show that mindful movement supports self-regulation, focus, and resilience, skills that benefit students both in school and in life.
Dance, Gymnastics & Youth Sports
These youth sports-inspired classes encourage children to move, play sports-based games, build strength, and express themselves creatively. Dance and gymnastics help kids develop gross motor skills, rhythm, confidence, and body awareness while practicing teamwork and perseverance. The CDC states that movement classes help children regulate emotions, pay attention, and grow physically.
Music Exploration
Music engages the whole child, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Through rhythm play, singing, instruments, and musical storytelling, students strengthen memory, sequencing, and self-expression. Research highlights that music enhances social-emotional skills and supports language development in early childhood.
Creative Art
Our art classes give children time to explore materials, experiment with color and texture, and create meaningful work that expresses their ideas. Art helps students develop fine motor skills, creativity, problem-solving, and confidence in a playful, inviting environment. Research from the National Endowment for the Arts shows that exposure to art increases focus and problem-solving skills.
